Charging of AGM Deka Batteries:
This battery, made by Deka, is an AGM battery. This is short for Absorbed Glass Mat. They are designed differently than a normal conventional battery. Therefore they require a special charger that is capable of charging this type of battery. This is a battery that is typically used seasonally. It is essential to keep your battery charged during the off-season or when it is unused for a length of time. A battery that is kept charged at 100% all the time is a happy battery. This will insure that you get the longest overall life out of your Deka Battery. The best way to accomplish this is with a Battery Tender or maintainer. See below for some recommended battery chargers and maintainers.

I researched this battery as a replacement to my 2004 HD Dyna Super Glide. Forums consistently felt this product (DEKA ETX20L) was off the same factory line as a branded HD battery for under half the cost. In comparing the fit and finish of the product, I agree. I am very satisfied. I know what I am buying when purchasing a Deka battery. With other brands, like Interstate you really have no idea who the OEM is from one year to the next for a particular battery. Other brands too have less than helpful non-threaded battery posts whereas Deka has threaded bolt holes and supplies the battery post hardware for either top or side mounting. Great battery at a great price.

Dekas are the best
Dekas are the best for Harleys. Deka is owned by the same parent company (East Penn) that makes the batteries for Harley Davidson. So they are the exact same battery except for the color. This battery was $99.99, Harley dealer is $147.70. Enough said.
